Queen of the 16th of September Parade

A celebration known as Mexican Independence Day 

Freedom is worth most any price you have to pay

Father Hildalgo rallied the townspeople to rise up

That Spanish crown fell to rest there in the dust

That’s the day Mexico’s independence began

From Spanish rule way back in eighteen-ten

Called Dia de la Independencia in native tongue

Fireworks, songs, wild cheering make up the fun
